Kindergarten at the Fisher Island Day School in 2003. Writing, integral to any elementary school curriculum, is encouraged by learning to draw and recognize different shapes. Art skills in early childhood development are applied in all subject areas - just as reading,writing, and arithmetic are applied in many facets of adult life with various degrees of mastery. As they grow older, young adults are able to make intelligent decisions regarding signage and they also become more versatile integrating imagery into their lives. South Florida 2008.

Below are guidelines for full year and semester courses in Art and Design that I have implemented in various schools. They are copyrighted examples, based on my experience in a variety of settings and academic environments. It is comforting to know that these standards are universally adhered to and applied in Art Programs in the US, overseas, and on the internet.
